What can I say In the first place? Sorry for

DETONIZE 'DEMOLITION 2008' TAPE
§i| Hailing from the city of Seattle. DETONIZE is featuring 2 members of SANCTUM and the
AGAINST EMPIRE bassist. This is totally d-beat punk band with heavily influence by the English I
mid-80's band like DISCHARGE, MOTORHEAD, and some Scandi punk touch like ANTI-CIMEX
(the Country of Sweden era). 4 songs of 12 minute that makes your leg shaking with their

KONTRASOSIAL 'ENDLESS WAR' CD
I got this CD during KONTRASOSIAL tour a few
months back. Well, this time KONTRASOSIAL has
huge line-up changes. There's a few persons from
Bandung Punk band playing with them now. I think
this is their first full length and they are supposed
to have a split cd with SANGRE on LP and
WARSTUCK on cd. Contains 9 tracks of totally crust |
madness and I can hear a lot of Swedish crust
influence and there's a cover song from MEANWHILE. 85% they're singing in Indonesian
language about religion, d.i.y, war and more. Their sound really has good quality recording
which you never regret to have this cd.

MAKING PUNK TAPE
A THREAT AGAIN
"Start organizes
the movement and
exchanges your
resistance revolt
with friends or
strangers."
Where our
government makes
a decision to rise
the fuel and all
folks in Malaysia
get angst as hell.
At that time I was
in my small town
called home and I was quite surprised
when the fuel rise so high from RM 1.92
to RM 2.70 per litter and we don't expect
it. As a poor working class man that price
too expensive to them. Meanwhile, the
entire opposite parties take advantage on
that event. They start questioning the
government why they should rise the fuel
even we own it "petrol and gas". After
the rising of the fuel the Prime Minister
bride with his promise to give the J
subsidies named debit on cash
people with the low income or own
private motorcycles will receive
per year at post office around your
for cover up the fuel increase. I have a
story to tell you related my experience
when I was at the post office shipped my
mail and I saw a young lady with
fashionable cloth fill up the form to claim
the debit. That's ridiculous! Honestly, so
many people do not agree what the prime
minister done and its awful decision. I
thought he must give that money to needy
people or who have deserved not for you
mother-fucker. Sadly, all the money went
to the big capitalist shopping mall to
purchase the cloths you don't need because
it's cheap.
On July 6 2008, an opposite party
launches the event at a stadium in
Selangor and at least one million folks
gathered difference Ideologies to overthrown
the government as we hate our state. So
that's why I saw so many road blocks
around the city and the unlicensed
motorcycles felt uncomfortable. I heard the
voice of a mother with children in the bus
was talking with her friends about protest
against the fuel. I felt so good people are
aware about that matter been related on
their life. However, a member of that
group invited a political punk rock band
named Carburetor Dung to play the song
but in between the singer show up his
I boxer at the crowd and thesituatioii

IWhen we look deeper the movement kids
J are not Interested in music and idea

I time I went to a gig I saw so many tables
J dominated by heap of shirts rather than
Izlnes or records. I remembered in late 90's

Ismail dlstro with little money to convert
I kids to love reading books, zlnes or lyrics

Iworld like racism, or sexism or homophobia
Iso kids can address these issues and we
I have to deal with it and this stuff exists

IWe realize that things are so meaningful in
lour everyday life and we spend our leisure
I time to write and send the letters to the
Izlne editors or bands all over the world to

I when I wrote this article was because I
Iwant more kids get involve in politics and
I take care about human beings and non
J human beings side as well. We try to use
Jour words to spread the Ideologies and
I convert the people who are concern all
J about kinds of oppression Issues such as
I Multinational Corporation converts you to
I consume their soft drink or fast food. We
I don't need hope to change for the better
I but we have to do something In this world
I because this hope will kill you. So what
lean we do now? We want people to try to
Ipay attention on music as a medium to
■ bring progress within our ideas.
Time passed out as fast as we love our
partner and end up with broke up or divorces]
It does happen in our hardcore/punk
co mmun ity too where kids give up and
start searching a new life.
When we were young, we love to do
something adventurous. We choose to live
our lives as revolutionaries and we switch
our lives into acUvlsms like Food Not
Bombs (cooking vegetarian/vegan foods for
homeless and organize the demonstration),
Critical Mass (ride the bike around the city
and obligates people to think how fucked
up the car industries are), or literature.
As "drop-out" revolution we have to do
something to achieve for a better world
and fight for all. It's all up to us.

V/A WAVE OF NOISE TAPE
! This compilation tape featuring 4 d-beat/crust
I band like SKITSOFRENIA, INCRUST, DISGRACE and®
DISTRUST from Singapore Ok let's start with
I SKITSOFRENIA. It starts with d-beat blasting raw punk control like M0B47 or ANTI-CIMEX
They re totally worshipping the Swedish punk cult and some of their lyrics written in
I Swedish. The next band is INCRUST, a new crust band from Kajang which produces a few
, good thrash metal band nowadays. INCRUST deliver you 4 tracks of DOOM style crust which
very rare nowadays to see band like this. On the other side, DISGRACE start with the solos
' SI!™ Seating f or 3 tracks of DISCHARGEish punk style. After that, featuring
| DISTRUST from Singapore. This time I think they're using drums programming or drum

TOTAL BANXAT 'SHADOW OF DEATH ON
DYING PLANET' CD
This is the first time I listen to this band when
I got this shit from Emman. TOTAL BANXAT is
another d-beat core band from Indonesia. The
last time I heard about this band is about their
releases from Japan SPEEDSTATE records. And I
never know if they have any other releases.
This cd contains 22 tracks from 4 different
recordings. The band sounds like an average
d-beat band but sometimes I feel like their sound
is like DISCLOSE or BESTHOVEN. The vocals part
is a little bit gruff which I think it really fits
with the Indonesian language. This band really
pays their salute to their friends with doing
cover songs from PEACE OR ANNIHILATION,
BOMBARDIR. They also have a cover song from
No Future by WOLFPACK and Smash Division byDISRUPT. The front artwork is really
cool; a fallen gas-masked demon destroying the city and the graveyard. This cd is
co-released between 18 international punk records label that really support this
motherfucker. So, I just pick one of them.

[ATTACK 'SPLIT' CD
Here comes new stuff from Black Seed rec. Malaysian ANTIPROTOKOL delivers you 13
tracks from different recordings. For those who still don't know about them,
ANTIPROTOKOL is another crustcore band with influence by WOLFBRIGADE, TRAGEDY,
and so on. I think they have 3 different recordings if I'm not mistaken. The early
recordings sound a bit boring but the songs are good. The guitar works are a bit heavy
sometimes and got a few melodic touch. The 10th track is the best recording by this
band, but the sound a bit boring with a touch of modern hardcore. Okay, the next track
number 14, starts with a noisy Swedish crust, SLAKTATTACK. This band has 3
guitarists!!! hahahha I think they want to make more noise than music. Overall songs
is good with the vocal style that is not very growl like SKITSYSTEM. The 3 guitarists are
not just making noise but there's a few rocking solos which is good.
BLACK SEEDS RECORDS blackseedsrecords.blogspot.com
WARDOQS 'NUCLEAR DISORDER' CD
This is the latest stuff by this noise maker crasher
crust, WARDOGS. 8 songs within 16 minutes is enough
for me to listen to this kind of band. WARDOGS really
pay the respect to their Japanese MASTER like GISM, I
DISCLOSE, GAIA, CONFUSE. There's a few lines that I
think they steal from CONFUSE. I don't mind by the
way. Hahah!!! The drums is not on par to D-beating
because the down-tempo just make my day worse. Well,
this is nice stuff to have but I prefer their first tape.
This CD comes with 7" packaging. Like it or not, here it|
is the 3rd world noise punk country!!! It's limited 300
copies.

OSMANTTKOS/DISTRUST 'SPLIT' CD
I'm very excited to get this shit. After a long
wait, at last I own this great split cd. The first
track started by DISTRUST, Singapore drunk
crust crusader. Their introduction is something
that I had heard before on their split cd with
BLOODSTONE. I think they're sharing the same
line-up. DISTRUST has some rocking solos that
can't hear from any typical crustcore band. 8
songs were delivered by DISTRUST. And the
track number 9, you can hear OSMANTIKOS
with their new songs. They still remain their
own hardcore /crust influence by the band like
TRAGEDY, FROM ASHES RISE, and you know
the list goes on. This time OSMANTIKOS has a
new person who take care of the bass and the
vocal part as the previous person who also play in ANTIPROTOKOL have moved back to
hometown. There are only 5 songs from OSMANTIKOS with the low-fi sound quality. What I
can hear, that their songs are very tough but it can be more interesting with better sound
production. That's what I think.
PIDEMI
CLOWN 'LIVESTOCK WORLD' Picture Disc LP
Fucking heavy hc/punk band from hell of Japan. CLOWN Is very energetic and catchy
metallic tunes. Adding with the shouting gruff vocals like Japanese band always do.
Huuuuaarrrrggghhhh!!! I think the guitarist has a big rock and roll influence that makes
this band fucking great with their songs. Singing In Japanese but comes with translation
lyrics. So, I can understand what they say. Like a usual punk band, they're writing about
life, freedom, rules etc. 12 songs of enjoyable and nice listening after you wake up from
sleep. Featuring a very chaotic artwork from Sugi. The same guy who draw for a few
SELFISH releases. Very nice. Highly recommended for Japanese punk freak. This is not
CONFUSE or GAI, THIS IS CLOWN!!!

SACRILEGE DISCOGRAPHY
Hello, as I write this I have a chest Infection & cold haha but thankfullyl
not swine flul I know people who have swine flu but they are recovering I
slowly, It seems to be In decline right now, I am slightly paranoid & think I
alot of these things are some government plan to "cull" the over k
populated planet & It's always In "poorer" areas where these Infections |
start & It's easier for the governments & media to blame poorer, less |
advantaged people/places, cheerfull start to an interview ey haha (I better I
warn you It's gonna get gloomier from here haha). Life for me right now I
is ok, I find it difficult living in England but saying that, when I am f
away I miss the ale (beer), music, family & friends obviously. fj
We played Kamun fest In Slovenia recently, we play "Play fast or don't
fest" In Czech next week, played with AMEBEX In Scotland, writing 4 or
new songs for a new 7" or 12", a tour of Japan is planned for late
2010, we are waiting for our split 12" with PHOBIA to be released,
NORTHERN SCUM lp is getting a vinyl reissue from AGIPUNK from Italy

The first time someone made me a oomp-CD-R, the person actually called it a

love tapes. I used to tape my records and have them handy on a tape.
I would still love to trade tapes with anyone. I have a slew of rare
demos/live shows on my hye trade list. I have about 5,000 records
that I could tape people and probably nearly 3,000 cds that I could
put on tape also.
Anyone out there with a cool list of demos/live shows, please send me
a list. Also If you have a good list of records you can dub too. I only
use top quality cassettes and good quality recording system.

"The main advantages of tapes were
cost and convenience. They were
cheap, portable, and you could
record or duplicate them on your
own relatively easily. They were
easier and cheaper to mail than a
record, and more durable. Thus, in
areas of the world where people
have easy and cheap access to
computers and the internet they
have been replaced by mp3's which I
are cheaper (free!), more convenient
(no rewindlng/f ast forwarding) , more
portable (take up no space), more
easily duplicated or burned to CDr,
free to transfer in an instant (to
anyone with a connection), don't
degrade every time you listen to
them (only the first time they're encoded, ha!), and you can pretty much find a copy
of anything if you ever lose it"

haha, as for me, my previous bands are largactll (who only did a couple of rough

4. AS A GUITARIST FOR E.O.M,
WHAT'S YOUR MAIN INFLUENCES
TO CREATE YOUR SONGS? WHAT
STUFF THAT YOU LISTEN TO
LATELY? HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO
MAINTAIN THE HEAVINESS AND
THE BRUTALITY OF E.O.M SONGS
ESPECIALLY THE SOUND
PRODUCTION?
Life & frustration with
circumstances that are put upon
me or situations I get myself into,
the band is the only way (or
closest way) I can exorcise my
demons (S? 1 have millions to
exorcise), musically my Influences
are the old crust stuff, AMEBLX, KILLING JOKE, MOTORHEAD, VENOM, DEVO,
SYD BABRATT, old FLOYD, recent bands I really like are INSTINCT OF SURVIVAL
G.A.T.E.S., DISGUST (Japan), GIUDA, WARPRAYER, BEGINNING OF THE END etc etc. As
for my sound I rely on a Marshall Jcm900, Marshall shred master distortion & a
(good studio engineer haha, without my amp my sound would suck as I am not
clever when it comes to such things St riffs don't come to
s
me very easy.
S. I SEE THER E'S A LOT OF CRUST BAND USING WAR/DEATH/BULLET/SKULL
ARTWORK ON THEIR RELEASES BUT IT'S DIFFERENT WITH E.O.M. YOU
GUYS ALWAYS USE ALIENS ( I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO CALL IT) TO isT
REPRESENT THE BAND. WHOSE IDEA IS THE ALIEN ARTWORK? WHAT'S ^
I THE HIDDEN MESSAGE ABOUT IT (ALIEN ARTWORK)? WHAT DO YOU THINK
ABOUT THE TYPICAL PUNK/CRUST ARTWORK LIKE USING BOMBS/WAR/
"*rust
The "alien" was actually a representation of the spine of manlrinrt n TPr
the years It has progressed/distorted in to what you see thanx to Duncan
(who does the amazing artwork) & Gmny's layouts. The spine can represent
anything you want It to be, Inner demons, reality, general evil, whatever. As
for typical "punk/crust" art-do what you want, it's your band, people say
war is too easy to write about, but regardless of things being considered a
fashion war Is still happening, all over the world 8c still after centuries
Innocent people are still being injured & killed, so In my opinion war
should still be dealt with In punk, how you wish to portray it Is your choice.

6. HAVE ANY OF YOU GUYS HAVE METAL (HEAVY METAL, BLACK METAL,
DEATH METAL) INFLUENCES? WHAT DO YOU THINK WITH NWOBHM (NEW
WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL)? THERE'S ANOTHER GENRE THAT'S GETTING
POPULAR OR WELL-KNOWN, 'METAL PUNK'. WHAT DO YOU THINK WITH THIS
TERM? HOW'S THE PUNK SCENE AND METAL SCENE OVER THERE? IS THERE
Tra ANY GAP/PROBLEM BETWEEN PUNK AND METALHEAD OR IS EVERYBODY OKAY 18

STAKTS f pm Sharp ENTRY 5 QUID
Tony Is the real die hard metal fan really, we all like some metal
music obviously but I personally don't like the pose/ego side of metal,
we could list a lot of Influences (MOTORHEAD, VENOM, CELTIC FROST,
old AC/DC, lots old NWOBHM (GIRLSCHOOL, TANK, ANGEL WITCH etc),
swedesh stuff (ENTOMBED etc) Tony would write a list longer than this
Interview haha. The term metal punk makes me cringe as It reminds me of the
song (same name) on the crappy VENOM lp calm before the storm, but I love
bands like AFTER THE BOMBS (Canada), G.A.T.E.S. (Japan), NUCLEAR FROST
(Brazil) St they all call themselves metal punk, to me it's fucking crust simple as
that. The divide between punks 8t metallers Is very small these days (in my
opinion) people like heavy music be it punk or metal, like the dly attitude of both
styles of music St there are many more open minded people from the metal scene
these days who recognise there is no room for racism St homophobia In music, of
course it still exists St always will but that's the side of metal music I hate St
keep away from. I've had many messages from kids from the metal scene saying
how EOM, DOOM etc introduced them to the dly punk scene/community St that
makes me feel very happy
7. HOW DO YOU FEEL WITH THE CURRENT PUNK SCENE? DO YOU NOTICE
THAT TAPE HAS LOST ITS SPECIALTY WHEN THIS DIGITAL WORLD GONE MAD
WITH MP3/DOWNLOADING? DO YOU STILL COLLECT TAPES? WHAT'S THE BEST
TAPE THAT YOU EVER BOUGHT?
Yes it has but that is a product of the time, tape was replaced by cd to a lesser
extent a few years ago, nowadays people use computers, mp3 players (Is different in
your country?). I don't really use tapes anymore, I transfer them St download to my
computer St put to mp3, I got a demo cassette tape on tour 3 weeks ago in the Usa it
was "TIERRA DE NADEE" (it means "no mans land" in Mexican I think) first time I
I got a tape in a long while. The best tape I ever bought?? Buying a blank cassette in
1984 with my pocket money St my uncle taped me lots of old punk on it I was 10
years old haha, I also really like the 2nd PARADISE LOST demo I bought in 1989,
obviously love the old demos by DOOM, DEVIATED INSTINCT, HELLB ASTARD,
AXEGRINDER, AMEBEX live tapes were also very special to me as I was too young to
them in the 1980s.

HAS AUDIO CASSETTE BEING FORGOTTEN?
WHY? LET'S READ WHAT THEY SAY.
"I tape trade a lot, but over all yes, it is being forgotten, why? cause punk have
' forgotten how to equalize properly, buy good blank tape, and actually put more time
: and effort into doing it, the result Is atrocious sounding dubs that people hate. Now I 1
find a lot of time good digital rips are better than a dub since most people have crap *~
decks, crap tapes, and crap dubbing skills. Sad but true. Still love the format though"
by Broken Tavern > Thu Jul 30, 2009 1:22 pmflHj
"It's an inferior format. It takes too much time to rewind, fast forward and find the
part of the tape you want to listen to. Plus the shelf life is limited. I think people
only like it for nostalgic reasons. Vinyl, however, is the way to save the music
industry. If every record label conspired to make ONLY vinyl, the MP3 would go the
way of the demo tape, and labels would be able to survive again, off record sales.
I know I'll get a bunch of shit for this from the file sharing masses, but it's true.
Music theft is the very reason PE isn't a functional label right now"

"I don't think that would happen. A lot of people have the means to record vinyl to
their computers, then file the vinyl away and listen to their new mp3s. (It's not a
bad idea, considering vinyl eventually wears out.)
I'm sure young American punks have forgotten about tapes, but it seems like Eastern
Europe and parts of Asia have not. Last time I checked Trujaca Fala had tons of tapes
in their distro, and I'm always seeing tape comps from Malaysia; from local bands to
Anti-Cimex.
I still see a lot of demo tapes, I Just bought one from Fucked for Life a couple weeks
ago. Cognitive Dissonance, Lotus Fucker and the Now Dead all released demo tapes in
the past couple years, and they're all American bands.
I love tapes. I think I'll feel like I'm in a real band once we get something released
on cassette"

HOW AND WHEN DID YOU FOUND
<r OUT ABOUT PUNK ROCK? WHAT
C ATTRACTED YOU TO IT?
tape with some Brazilian punk bands.
I had already heard some things
about rock but anything so strong in
which did surprise me in a certain
point to completely change my life.
When I heard the songs and I saw
the pictures In that tape, something
attracted me and In one week I was
In a punk gig on a small
neighbourhood soccer field, full of
dust, buying new tapes and some
zlnes. In the end I was finding
myself as a punk and all that guts
for doing street gigs, carrying j
equipments, changing zlnes, tapes
and Ips had fascinated me day by
day.
HOW WAS THE BRAZILIAN PUNK SCENE BACK THEN? WAS IT
DIFFERENT FROM TODAY?
1
I started in 1988 and so much things have been built. At that moment, I felt
so much will force. We were still living in a military government but we never
gave up. The cops always took us to the police station and being hurt was '
something very common, but we fight back, producing zlnes, songs, workshops.
We were always on the streets and we started to make some meetings to better
organize ourselves. In the old times, everything was spontaneous with a few
meetings. Nowadays we have a lot of means, we have money, equipments and
a lot of things are still happening but I miss the guts that we had before.
YOU PLAYED IN MANY BANDS, BUT I THINK THAT EXECRADORES WAS MOST KNOWN

YEARS AGO CWHY?), THERE ARE ONLY RECORDINGS LEFT - WHICH OF YOUR MANY
RECORDS WOULD YOU RECOMMEND MOST?
Yeah, I played and I
am still playing In
many bands, but
Execradores was the
most well-known. This 1
band came up in
1991 with punk friends and we got involved with the Brazilian anarcopunk movement.
We played in so much places and we did two tours around Europe in 2000 and 2002.
We recorded many tapes, three 7", two splits Lps 12" with Sin Dios from Spain and
another one with 20 Minutes de Chaos and some compilations. Execradores is over in
2007, sixteen years later, because we wanted to do new things and we do not wanted
Execradores got bigger than it really was. Some things hold us in the band, the myth

I do the right thing and that have our own lives. We were

I Ok, yeah, I am involved with the

4 WELL I HEARD THAT YOUR TAPE HAS A BETTER RECORDING SOUND THAN
'"^YOUR 'NUCLEAR DISORDER' CD BU I CAN'T FEEL THE BEAT. WHERE IS THE BEAT?
': 4 DO YOU FEEL THE SAME TOO? HOW HARD TO MAKE WARDOGS TO BE HEARD LUCE
JAPANESE BANDS? IS THAT A DEFERENCE ON RECO RDING METHOD?
I
_ Izzy: Yeah I notice It too, like I said It was the same recording but due to CD dlgitallze
■ so the sound came up too sharp and not raw compare the tape. It's hard for us to get
the sound since we know nothing about music, only know how to destroy It so we Just
go on start the experiment. We even don't have our own gears at that time. Overall It's
more Into noisy tunes and crazy vocals, absolutely tunes for fucker, we like it that way
and we leam something from that.
Mario: Ya I feel It too, the best of reason Is 'we are noise maker not musician'
and I think loud & over sound Is fucking awesome.. .noise and broken.
An fukker: Dunno where the beat gone .everything's great in the studio. Our
drummer fuckin exhausted I guess haha! I was fucked at tuning, sound and even WffPfi
playing guitar, I Just do what I want, turn the nwiriimim voltage of WARDOGS
channel as long as It's noise and I can feel it, doesn't need to be too good in
WARDGOS, Just play what we want.

SraCE EXECRADORES AND ALSO YOUR OTHER BANDS HAD GOOD NUMBERS OF
RECORDS RELEASED IN THE ABROAD, YOU HAVE FOR SURE EXPERIENCES WITH i
INTERNATIONAL HARDCORE/PUNK SCENE AND DIY COOPERATION ANY '
THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS? DOES THIS "NETWORK OF FRIENDS" STILL EXIST OR
ARE PEOPLE ONLY INTERESTED IN LATEST AMERICAN/JAPANESE/SWEDISH
TRENDS?
BRAZIL HAS LONG TRADITION OF KILLER
PUNK AND THRASHCORE BANDS BACK FROM
80S, BUT WHAT ABOUT ANARCHOPUNK/PEACE-
* PUNK OR CRUST? I THINK IT WAS ALWAYS
* (AND MAYBE IT IS STILL SAME TODAY?) LESS
POPULAR IN YOUR COUNTRY - WHY? WOULD
YOU RECOMMEND ANY OLD AND NEW BANDS
FROM THIS GENRE?
The anarcopunk scene here started in the 90's
and a few bands really had some spot out of
here, I think only Dlscarga Vlolenta, Execradores,
Metropollxo and Lixo Urbano could did it. The
most popular bands are the hardcore bands of
course, but I believe this Is Just because the
anarcopunk bands have a different way of
distribution, because they don't put their records In stores at Rock Gallery and this
have some limit about distribution and In the end they don't get popular. The only
one band that is still playing Is Dlscarga Vlolenta and there are few new bands In
the same style, hardcore is still the most attractive to people but I believe that these
crusts bands from here are growing a lot and there are very good bands such as
Disarm, Dischaos, Nuclear Frost, Desespero from Belo Horlzonte, Decllnlo Social j
from Dlvinopolls, o Defy (Denlto's new band, ex-drummer of dlskontroU)... From the
old bands, We reco mm end Armagedon (always) and Skarnio and I like very much of
Colera, the band that I met the people a little better and we have done some things
together.
I REMEMBER THE EXECRADORES INTERVIEW IN OLD ISSUE OF PROFANE
EXISTENCE WHERE SOME OF YOU HEAVILY CRITICIZED SOME POPULAR
BRAZIL BANDS LIKE OLHO SECO, RAT08 DE PORAO, COLERA... FOR BEING
COMMERCIAL, SOME OF THEM EVEN FOR BEING NAZIS... HONESTLY, WHAT
DOES IT MEAN EXACTLY?
I think this Information was extreme, we lived In a moment that many of that
bands asked for a lot of money to play and they were doing concerts In ridiculous
I TV shows and that's why the Idea of being commercial. About the nazlsm Issue, It
was all about the lyric "NADA" of Olho Seco which Is about the migration of people
and hate declaration against that people from other part of Brazil besides Sao Paulo.
Sao Paulo Is the economic center of the country and people from northeast and
north come here to work, to find a Job to get some money and for us this is not a
problem, the lyric it Is against the migration and asks to the politicians to send theml
PROXIMO E5TACA0 METRO CONCBCAO.
have been a huge problem In
Sao Paulo, gangs are very violent
/ and most of them are nationalists, homophobics, and fight against other'punks and"
ople. They don't produce nothing, they don't organize anything, they Just do physical
3lence. They kill people for sexual orientation, foreign people, some of these people Just
because they dressed themselves In a different way. They are Involved with skinheads A
lot of them are arrested for organized crime, murder, destruction... but we keep doing our
, things.
YOU HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN COUPLE MORE BANDS BESIDES EXECRADORES - I
KNOW ABOUT METROLOPDCO AND AMOR, PROTESTO Y ODIO... AGAIN, TELL US MORE
ABOUT THEM PLEASE - MUSIC, IDEAS, INFLUENCES, RELEASES, TOUR ANYTHING
YOU FIND IMPORTANT.
Each band had its history, Metropollxo came up a little after Execradores and recorded
few things such as a split 7" with Execradores, Cenas Anarcopunk and Resistencla
Anarcopunk and the band it's over for 10 years. Amor Protesto y Odio was the most
critical band about the movement punk/anarcopunk, we spoke a lot about the Internal i
issues and about do It yourself and we had a sound crust metal, we record a split 7"
with Execradores (hehehe), a split 12" with Abuso Sonoro and a split 12" with jj
Septicemia... this band had finished in 2000. It was something very strong had played In
both bands during its existence. Each one had been Involved with different things and it
was very Important had exist to me and to the punk in Brazil.

lis brutal, crowded, full of energy and very good new friends, but in Sao Paulo !
I there Is an amazing energy, our old friends always supporting our history. About j

O'Germinal was created after my arrival j! |
from a European tour In 2000, after
seeing some spaces with vegan food,
concerts rooms, infoshop and with
horizontal organization. We organized
many concerts, workshops, movie
sessions, meetings, expo, gastronomic
events... Years ago we had had a house
in the south side of Sao Paulo but many
people couldn't get there because Sao
Paulo Is a huge city and we decided to
rent a house In downtown to do our activities. Unfortunately we had too much
struggles with money and we had to close down the house duelng a large quantity of
money. Nowadays I organize all these things at Espaco Improprio and In other houses
either.
YOU ARE NOW WORKING TOGETHER WITH ESPACO IMPROPRIO, RIGHT? AGAIN,
PLEASE TELL US MORE ABOUT THIS SPACE! WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BIGGEST
PROBLEMS RUNNING PLACE LIKE THIS IN SAO PAULO? WHAT ABOUT COPS AND
; NAZIS - ARE THERE ANY PROBLEMS?
[Yeah, as I said before, I am at Espaco Improprio now, we have the same proposal'
jabout organization that we had at Germinal, horizontal organization, anarchist and I
jdo it yourself, but the experience we've got in Germinal together with the
■ experience that people have in Improprio, we changed some things and the risk of I
I huge duties it is smaller but we still keeping our Jobs outside Improprio to keep

IJthat never want to pay the entrance In the events and the high life cost In Sao
y Paulo. Fortunately we are doing well with the police and they don't have disturbed |

lthe neighbors hehehehehe, the nazlsts come here once a year and they don't
i*?understand what it is happening In Improprio and go away with fool faces hahaha.l
Here to Sao Paulo, we also have the Noise Terror Studio from Diego Cgultar fr^T
Dlskontroll) who keep the space. It's a space with a rehearse room and a concert
room besides the vegan food either. Beside this we don't have any other similar
spaoe, other things are organized to schools, pubs, sheds....

No, none of the CURRENT line up of
TTKT.T .BASTARD were/are In Hellkrusher. I
used to play for a time In a band called
"Energetic Krusher", who were really good
mates of ours, me and nick parsons
played In them for a time, I got them
a record deal with VINYL SOLUTION and
they did an album for that label. I think I
helped them out a lot back then, ....so did
my brother (BIG TOOT) he used to give
them the chance of playing a really good
club called THE RIVERSIDE in Newcastle
Upon Tyne as he was a promoter there and
mut many many bands on over the years
In various venues and so forth. Scotty (ex
Hellbastard bassplayer) plays guitar in
Hellkrusher.

It is nice that people love that early stuff we did. It makes me feel proud yes,.
the term basically has a double-sided meaning, as does the band name
i »* k "HELLBASTARD" , . . .EE
RIPPER CRUST" was a "sound" and political statement so far as I am concerned,.... the
MA whole ethic of early hellbastard was ENVIRONMENT ALISM, so the "RIPPER CRUST"
tHS ethic can mean DESTRUCTION OP THE ENVIRONMENT, and it also has meaning for the
music, too. Everybody keeps telling me WE were the FIRST band to use this name
"CRUST",. But whatever, it isn't important, .What Is important though is bands that
keep decent lyrics flowing - without this we will all be listening to some fucking MTV
bullshit and after a few years people will have a redefined idea of the word
"HARDCORE" and shit like that.

Hi Pat, nice to speak to you,.. The feedback on the new album, "THE
NEED TO KILL, RAGE MURDER, REVENGE <S? RETALIATIONS : THE RISE OF THE
WORKING CLASSES has been very good, we realised too late though that the
overall sound Is DOMINATED by the "Triggered" drum sound,...The album sells
well and will be coming out on cd very soon on "Selfmadegod" records, (Poland)
Also our new (recorded only last week) "ECO-WAR" MINI-LP/CD will be coming
out on "Selfmadegod" too, The album was very nearly NEVER recorded, we
had a lot of TROUBLE with members and record labels and payments but to
cut a long story short we did it and it is there for anybody that wants to
hear it,.... We reformed back in 2008, I can't for the life of me think WHY we
did, but we did. The INTEREST was massive,... so many people contacted us to
share their appreciation of HELLBASTARD. From a personal perspective I think
I only really (deep down) reformed the band because my brother (Big Toot) died
in 2007. He literally starved to death. Alcokltoacldosls is the correct name for
his demise, fucking alcohol he always had a soft spot for the band, you see
and being an orphan I liked to try and make HTM proud of me because there
was nobody else. When he died in 2007 I was left with the awful thought that
I may as well give up playing music altogether, because the SOURCE of my
Inspiration was gone, and there was nobody else to try and make them feel
"proud". If it wasn't for my brother I'd have NEVER got Into punk rock/
hardcore/metal etc in the first place anyway, and I am very much like a
kid - wishing to make his parents PROUD of him. So, because there are no
parents or brother or anybody, and my whole family Is dead, then I decided I
could at least do It for him, for my brother. That, and the fact that I'm an
j angry cunt anyway, and HELLB ASTARD always was the BAND that could clear
• mv demons the most,....
Agipunk records asked us If they could re-release "Ripper Crust" and I said,."Well,.yes..
it was that simple, really. I wrote all the songs on it around 24 years ago,. so I guess
it is my decision. Have you actually seen the repress of this demo ? FUCKING HELL It
looks too GOOD to be true I Silver and black EMBOSSED logo and shrlnkwrapped with a
sticker on front and multicoloured vinyl with a big poster inside and all that stuff, It is
awesome I It was first released on vinyl In 1993 by GRINDCRUST RECORDS from the
UK,... and it looked great even then. Purple vinyl and insert sleeve and really nice
covers etc Do you know that demo cost us £25.00 to record back in 1986, ....I never
would have thought lt'd be re-released TWICE on vinyl on different labels.. .maybe it'll be
released AGAIN in ten years time on INVISIBLE VINYL ? Hahahahahaha. Agipunk are
wanting to re relesae the second demo on VINYL too (Hate Militia) but it seriously needs
looking at, the qualtly is fucking awful for a start. We'll see once the thing has been
"cleaned up" a bit....

In the early years we were all Into the early punk stuff, obviously that Is where we
come from you know. Today there isn't much we all listen to that I would say
"influences" the band. I personally don't really listen to much music anymore
I find It really difficult to do so without getting bored, same goes for a lot of the
songs I write for HELLBASTARD as well
Hi!
8. I BET THAT YOU GUYS HAVE A HUGE INFLUENCE FROM THRASH METAL BANDS
CAN YOU NAME A FEW BANDS THAT YOU KEEP LISTENING TO SINCE 10 YEARS AGO?
WHO'S THE MASTERMIND AND RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING HELLBASTARD MUSIC?
people that LOVE music and people that REALLY love music. ..the latter"
j usually form bands and get on with it I can still listen to a lot of stuff from
the 60's, 70's and 80 's and 90's..I usually write most of the hellbastard material,
9. WHAT CAN YOU SEE POSITIVELY/NEGATIVELY ABOUT THIS COMEBACK OF AN
OLD FART BANDS LIKE HELLBASTARD, AMEBDX, DISCHARGE, MODERAT

RECORDS AND SOME TOURS?
"Well, it gives people something better than fucking GREEN DAY or

quite soulless I find."
There are always going to be negative/positive criticisms about "older" bands
re-forming and coming back, but when a band comes back with a great new I

Well, I think LIFE gets In the way,
don't you? The constant fucking
BULLSHIT of trying to DO something,
(In my case trying to make music
and keep a band together)
and be creative whilst desperately
making ends meet, paving the rent,
buying food, making sure your bills are paid and cleaning the house/flat/apartment/
doghouse/cathouse/lnhouse/outhouse/kennel, etc and making sure the cat has food,
turning up for fucking WORK, slaving your guts out and then trying to forget how
tired you are and do YOUR thing and have some "ME" time,... the idea came about
really because of the SOLID Interest in the band from the very people that enjoy the
ideas and music! Since HELLBASTARD split for good in 1992 I had been very busy
with other projects anyway,. to name them after BET J .BASTARD split - "NERO CIRCUS",
"SIDEWINDER", KING FUEL", "HEAVY WATER", "MO0DHO0VER", "THE DISCHARGERS "
All these bands made albums and toured and all that stuff, but HELLBASTARD is
where my true heart lies I guess. I am fortunate that I have found the "RIGHT"

HI Our European tour was great, I was constantly surprised to see the venues fill up
near showtime, it was lovely to see! We met some great bands and people,., we
had a few problems with the band though. ...basically we had the wrong line up,....
we thought it'd be ok but things went from bad to worse. Hence the line up now
of our ICELANDIC (session) DRUMMER and a new guitarist in the band to boot!
Both new members are fucking MATURE and cool guys,..JCrisyan (drums) and
Danny (guitars),, I think the band is very very lucky to have them onboard. We
are not consciously attempting to "survive" ANY amount of time per se,....I Just
hope that we get to make the ALBUM I have always wanted HELLBASTARD to
make,....

3. IS THERE AMY BAD THINGS HAPPENED LN THE EARLY 90'S THAT
MADE HELLBASTARD MISSING IN ACTION ?
"KEEPING A FUNCTIONING BAND TOGETHER IS PROBABLY LIKE A MARRIAGE,
IT HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNS AND OCCASIONALLY PEOPLE WALK AWAY and/or FUCKOFF.
If I was to answer this In all truthfulness then I would OFFEND
would sound like a big SLAG-OFF to them all, It literally would
everybody to FUCKOFF,.. so, to save them the EMBARRASSMENT
I will not answer this.
4. WELL, WHEN WE LISTEN TO YOUR NEW 'THE NEED TO KILL' LP, ITS VERY
MATURED METALLIC CRUST RECORDING. HOW HARD THE RECORDING PROCESS
m THE STUDIO THIS TIME? IS IT TOTALLY DIGITAL RECORDING METHOD?
WHICH ONE YOU PREFER, DIGITAL OR ANALOG?
"WE RECORDED THE NEW ALBUM and the studio was amazing and the producer
AJEET GILL Is INCREDIBLY DEDICATED to getting what the band wants, ..but we
went for this "BIG and POLISHED SOUND" and It made everything quite sterile and
far too "processed...", guess we learnt our lesson right there, but by then it was too
late - the album had been released..
We recorded "THE NEED TO KILL, Rage Murder, Revenge St Retaliations, The RISE of the
Working Classes., album at Birmingham's Infamous "HELLFIRE" STUDIOS, In July 2008
All digital, I prefer ANALOG really, but DIGITAL IS easier to work with (a fuck of a lot
easier as anybody reading this will attest to..) We had a really busy time. Our bassplayer
was emotionally and physically unstable to the point of having a severe nervous
breakdown and going home and even walking offstage at a "secret show" during the 2nd
song I I had to complete his bass sections on the albu m an d a l ot of other things as well
^ IT WAS FUCKING LUDICROUS. We were — - -
^supposed to be releasing the album on
■^"MELTDOWN" RECORDS and the owner Chris
made us feel very welcome and couldn't help
us enough,. but, In the end MELTDOWN folded
and we found Oil and Civilisation Records In
Germany. The big PROBLEM was that we had
the WRONG LINE UP,... and this problem endured
until only recently. It didn't take long to realise |
that NONE of us even really "like" that album,
....It has a lot of stuff missing I think. The
triggers on the drums do NOT HELP at all and
It Is too "CLEAN" and "STE RILE ", I mean no
offence to AJEET GILL Che Is my personal
friend anyway) or HELLFIRE but it just Is not
HET I .BASTARD in the fact that It Is not RAW
^enough I think this was the problem with
^ "NATURAL ORDER" album on Earache Records
back in 1989/90. That album was far too
"POLISHED" as well, So, I'm sitting here
listening to a ROUGH MLX of our new MINI
ALBUM, "EC O-WAR" and I have to say, I like
this A LOT BETTER than anything after 1988
that HET J .BASTARD put out. IT IS FUCKING
RAW AND "REAL" lllllll
I
"...ON A FEW OCCASIONS IN A BANDS CAREER THEY MAY GET "LUCKY" ONCE OR,
TWICE, WE ARE CURRENTLY VERY, VERY LUCKY AS WE HAVE THE COOLEST
FUCKING RYTHMN SECTION, GUITARIST & DRUMMER IN THE WHOLE WORLD..
Joint Is on a trip to blast open
the secrets of the infamous AREA 51
"Dreamland" Military base In Nevada. I
think he took It quite literally when I
talked to him about UFO's and
EXTRATERRESTRIAL activity on earth and
elsewhere. At first he was very skeptical,. I
think he did his homework now, and he Is
on the trip to discover more. We wish him
the best of luck, .him and his whole family,
they are really lovely people. He also had
a hard time dealing with the POLITICS of
HFJ.T .BASTARD and the fact that we are
Cor at least myself and Glan) were from
the SAME background with music and
politics and the band Is more about
LYRICAL CONTENT rather than Just
ROCKING OUT,. or whatever. We were too
HARDCORE for Joint I think, he likes a
METAL BAND and no spontaneity, we , on
the other hand love spontaneous thing s to
happen, like freestyle JAZZ with a bit of crunch to It, hahahaha. It is the old "WE DON'T
WANT TO OBEY MUSIC'S FUCKING TIRED OLD MEDIOCRE RULES AND REGULATIONS Hill!
WE WANT A BIT OF SPONTANEOUS CRAZTNESS." And I think Joint couldn't get to grips
with this. He Is/or will (?) form another band and they will sound very processed and
nu-metal, I think. If it ever happens, that Is naturally we wish him all the best, we
really do. He Is a good lad but he has an awful lot to learn, ...he was only 17 year's old
when he Joined HeUbastard you knowl
Have you ever heard of a band from Belgium called "SUHRIM" ? Well, Johan from
that band put me in touch with KRISTJAN,....very quickly you see. I called Johan one
day and asked him If he knew any drummers he said - (and I quote) - "I KNOW
JUST THE GUY FOR YOU..." and here we were all but a week or so ago recording our
new MINI ALBUM and rehearsing for the USA tour in sept/oct 2009. Kristjan had
came over from ICELAND and only a week or so before this I went to a local studio
here where I live and met our new 2nd guitarist DANNY GUY,... He Is a fucking
GENIUS, as Is KRISTJAN and GIANLUCA. I am In a band with VERY clever people it
feels fucking GREAT I Sometimes I don't feel "worthy", you know,. ...the current line
up Is so awesome, great vibes, great people. It is a bands' dream to get this in
motion, and we have It. SMILE I hahaha. I have known Glanluca the longest, (and
that really Isn't very long) but the fact Is WE ALL GET ALONG and we all Instinctively
KNOW what we .wanna do and how we wanna do it,... it feels very refreshing after the
